Homework 85 - Birthday Beats

Okay we're back with a challenge! its been a month or so out the game (lots going on! including a trip to the US for bcd #3...theres a blogpost coming soon on that), the league is still happening for all those wondering just be patient.

Right now for this weeks task!


Homework 85 - Birthday Beats



The goal of the challenge this week is to make a track built from a sample of whichever song was the top charting single from the week and year of your birthdate! maybe you now know about the group or song in question...but at the time you wouldn't have had a clue being fresh on this earth!!

You have a choice of either the UK or US top single and theres links to the wiki pages of the top selling singles so you can figure out what your choices are.


RULES
This week the goal is to make a beat using the #1 charting single of the same week of your birth date, you can go by either the UK top 40 singles or the US billboard charts (links below). VST's and your own built up elements are cool but make sure the sample forms the body of your track.


DEADLINE
Get the joints to us by Sunday 27th March, email entries to homework@louisden.com ,as usual we'll be streaming from http://louisden.com/live between 18:00 and 18:30 GMT so get your beats in! do your bit to ensure a healthy turn out so we can get the challeneges crackin full steam!!

Jeeks - Arcade EP

Louis Den producer (League/Beat Cypher) fam Jeeks (formerly Jeekay) (Illrythmikz) recently dropped his "Arcade EP", a free release this joint is fusion of R&B/Soul and Disco influences lumped together to form a dance centric release that manages not to stray too far away from his hiphop roots.

In his own words his material started to take at turn for the 80's last summer and he's been working away since; this is the end result.
